During Phase 1 of our recent Spring Clean Scottburgh Campaign, the Keep Scottburgh Beautiful team uncovered the once-beautiful waterfall that welcomed residents and visitors to our lovely town during the 70s / 80s, now long since left to ruin…
We have since embarked on a project to restore this inviting feature and make it every bit as welcoming as it was before!
According to life-time locals, the Waterfall was built as part of a Coastal Competition during the early 70s. The municipality, in conjunction with residents, employed the expertise of a well-known architect for the design and local builders were then commissioned to construct the feature.
Scottburgh apparently won second place in the Coastal Competition because of this Waterfall feature!
It is the aim of Keep Scottburgh Beautiful to not only restore this magnificent feature, but to modernize it with a bigger pond, new signage and lighting so it will easily be visible at night.
This is a big undertaking which we cannot achieve without you support – please consider donating to this project so future residents and visitors can also enjoy this welcome to our beautiful town!
