Scottburgh Community Park Project

Community Park Project | Projects & Events | Keep Scottburgh Beautiful

Keep Scottburgh Beautiful are revamping the Park Area near Blue Marlin Hotel down to the Mpambanyoti River to create a beautiful Community Park and we need your support!

After the completion of the Spring Clean Scottburgh Projects and Waterfall Project at the entrance to Scottburgh along George Crookes Street last year, Keep Scottburgh Beautiful decided to continue revamping this area with the ambition to create a beautiful Community Park area where friends and family can enjoy picnics, braais and the beautiful scenery offered by this small woodland area which overlooks the Mpambanyoti River as it makes it way towards the ocean.

On completion, we hope to have many beautiful Memorial / Legacy / Family Gardens, family picnic areas with park benches / tables and a braai area. The Park will be lit at night for additional safety and security and several security cameras will be installed with 24 hour surveillance as well.

It’s another huge undertaking which we can only achieve with our wonderful Community’s support!

How You Can Get Involved

This Community Park Project can only be made a reality with community support and participation.

Create a Garden

We invite residents and businesses to create their own Memorial / Legacy / Family Garden in the Park. There are many beautiful trees that adorn this area which would be enhanced by a small garden area beneath. Create a garden to memorialise a loved one, commemorate a milestone, leave a small legacy in your home town etc. and we will have a plaque made for your garden acknowledging this for all to see.
Please remember that this would be your garden and therefore you would be responsible for ensuring it’s ongoing upkeep etc. We sincerely suggest incorporating plants that are indigenous and waterwise as these tend to minimise maintenance required!

Braai and Picnic Areas

In order to create a Picnic and Braai Area, we will need concrete, outdoor benches, tables, chairs etc and Built-in Braais. If you can assist with these in any way – from donating supplies or products to building these items yourself – please get in touch with us!

Support Financially

These Projects cost a lot of money to complete, but have the potential to be of enormous benefit to our entire community, and create additional attractions for our holiday makers!

Please consider donating towards our latest Project – every little bit helps make these dreams a reality!
